Springwood Foundation Day Festival 2018

Wet start fails to deter Springwood Foundation Day crowds

100 Market Stalls, 30 Food Stalls, 3 Stages, Amusement Rides, Fire Brigade Displays.

"Strong crowds have still turned out for Springwood’s Foundation Day Festival despite a rainy start to the annual event. With the sky clearing up about 11.30am, Macquarie Street was still busy with families and visitors checking out the attractions including street stalls, children’s rides and musical entertainment. The official opening was held at 10am with Blue Mountains MP Trish Doyle, Macquarie MP Susan Templeman and Blue Mountains mayor Mark Greenhill taking part. The Royal Hotel was busy with festival-goers enjoying its stage showcasing live bands and performers. Further up the main street, Blue Mountains Musical Society members impressed the crowds at 11am with several numbers from their upcoming show, Urinetown.

Later in the day, the Aston Martinis had people dancing in the street before Liam Gray impressed with his interpretation of jazz standards.

Macquarie Road was closed from Ferguson Road to Raymond Road, providing a great opportunity for people to enjoy the day."  Blue Mountains Gazette.
